Award-winning Orthodontist Dr. Jason M. Hartman is a native of Berks County, Pennsylvania. He received a Bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After college, he worked as an analytical chemist for Johnson & Johnson, testing many of the products that are on pharmacy shelves today, including Tylenol, Motrin, and Imodium. During that year as a chemist, Dr. Hartman decided his desire to help others boost their self-esteem and confidence by improving their smile was his calling to dentistry.
Dr. Hartman then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, receiving his D.M.D. degree and graduating near the top of his class. At Penn, he received several awards, including the University of Pennsylvania Achievement Award for excellent performance on the National Dental Board Examination. He then completed a one-year general practice residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. It was during this year that Dr. Hartman discovered his passion for braces and orthodontics. He then spent an additional three years attending the prestigious Columbia University in New York City to specialize in orthodontics, receiving both a certificate in orthodontics, as well as a Master’s degree for his cutting edge research in the field. Dr. Hartman spent an additional two years in New York working as an orthodontist, enhancing the smiles of many adults and children, and even a few children of celebrities.
